How our forefathers ate their Meals : Legend Of India S3

They used to say this "What you eat is what you become". It's quite a suitable quote I guess based on the categories of food present out there which are mainly of 3 types : Sattvic , Rajasic and Tamasic.

For Beginners let's say your are an Brahmin, Yogi or someone who needs to keep their mind in perfect peace and balance.

Then Sattvic foods are the best partners to your daily diet as these foods are light in nature and nourishes your brain effectively.
Some of the Sattvic foods are :Rice, Whole wheat, Millet, Corn, Lentils, Oats, Celery, Sweet potatoes, Sprouts, Cauliflower, Zucchini, Lettuce, Green beans, Spinach, Broccoli,Apples, Peaches, Oranges, Bananas, Guava, Berries, Papayas, Pomagranate etc.

What if I am a sports person or a soldier, well the perfect partner for you is the Rajasic foods which always keeps your mind running and keeping you alert all the time. Maybe night persons might have these kinds of foods in diet mostly unknowingly I think so.

The Rajasic foods are the type, which helps to make you active or more like agitated, in this type it's hard to clear out or think peaceful.
Some of the Rajasic foods are : Salmon, Sole, Trout, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, Eggs, Salt, Pepper, Black Pepper, Ginger, Onion, Radish, Garlic, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Cola Drinks, Chocolates etc.

Well I would say if you need a good sleep or need a effective rest for the body. Tasmic foods are the right fit, but I would not recommend these foods mostly to anyone because they are heavy on your digestion system and its dulls your memory and cognitive abilities in the long run. I hope you keep these set of foods to consume on as minimum as possible.

Some of the Tamasic Food are : French Fries / Chips, Foods preserved with Salt, Pickles preserved in Vinegar, Beef, Veal, Hot Dogs, Sausages, Bacon, Ham, Preserved fruits, jam, jelly, flavoured drinks, preserved food, soups, fermented bread, cakes, white flour, sausages, pickles, papad, Alcoholic drinks etc.

Well if someone asks me a best practical diet to be followed I would say you better eat 60% Sattvic, 30% Rajasic and 10% Tamasic foods in a single meal.

The Three Monks on the Riverside : Stories Of Wisdom S3

Three monks sat by a lake, deep in meditation. One stood up and said, “I’ve forgotten my mat.” Stepping on to the waters before him, he walked across to the other side, where their small hut stood. When he returned, the second monk said, “I just remembered I haven’t dried my washed clothes.” He too, strode calmly across the water to the other bank and returned in a few minutes the same way. The third monk watched them intently. Figuring that this was a test of his own skills, he loudly declared, “So you think your abilities are superior to mine! Watch me!” and scurried to the edge of the river bank. No sooner did he put his foot in than he fell into waist-high water. Unfazed, he waded out and tried again. And again and again, to no avail. After watching this performance in silence, one of his fellow monks asked the other, “D’ you suppose we should tell him where the stepping stones are?” I hope you have gained the lesson from this story.
